Record of Wheeline’s Passion

1993

From Despair to Hope
CEO Geum Dong-ok was diagnosed with a Class 1 disability due to an unfortunate accident. He was stabbed by an assailant who swung a weapon at him after Geum tried to help the victim. This incident caused his nerves to be damaged. After facing difficulties finding a job, he started a wheelchair business through an introduction by an acquaintance. Since most wheelchairs were imported at the time, users with disabilities experienced many difficulties, such as repair issues. CEO Geum decided to develop a wheelchair using his experience in car maintenance.

2001

Persistent Attempt for Wheelchairs
Hope immediately led to action. CEO Geum read books and started to operate a welding machine. In 1999, he acquired a small studio and devoted himself to product development. He initially endured shortcomings and failure, but he could not give up. In June 2001, he entered the business again. Afterwards, he failed two more times before officially registering as a business in 2008. Although the business was not easy, his skills and experience grew.

2008

The Birth of the Famous Sports Wheelchair
Since CEO Geum himself played para-rugby, he naturally began to manufacture sports wheelchairs. Sports wheelchairs must be repaired frequently due to intense movements and frequent collisions, and it was not easy to repair imported wheelchairs every single time they broke. CEO Geum started to help repair sports wheelchairs. This became an opportunity for him to develop sports wheelchairs. CEO Geum designed his own wheelchair because he could not bear to see a disabled badminton player use an old wheelchair. This project paid off, for gold medals were won in the Asian Games and World Championships. After that, he received customer inquiries and heard more news of medals being won in various competitions. Thus an outstanding sports wheelchair was born.

2011
